Topic question: Is it important reading to children?
l. Introduction
Children’s brain is like a sponge, so they absorb all the knowledge you give them. Parents should take advantage of the stage in which they are to help them to develop their skills. Moreover, the benefits of reading to children are related to the brain’s stimulation, psychological features, and bilingualism development. (Thesis statement)
II. Main idea #1
The brain is in charge of regulating all organs and is where the consciousness reside. It is also believed that is a muscle in which you can work on. In a sense, through reading, children are being stimulated in both hemispheres. Brain plasticity has a big role in childhood due to the experiences and knowledge children are acquiring. Stimulating children’s brain helps them to improve their abilities.
III. Main idea #2
Not only children could exercise their brain through reading but also they also could strengthen their spirit. Books have genres and they promote different types of emotions so as not to being repetitive. Children could develop empathy while they are reading the story, placing themselves in another’s position. Moreover, books facilitate and stimulate to let imagination free rein.
IV. Main idea #3
Reading to children could enable the process of acquiring a language. The role of parents is to act as facilitators who through listening are promoting children’s production. The development of bilingualism in this stage is accessible because children are recognizing the alphabet. If children receive enough support, they could learn both languages simultaneously.
Conclusion
All things considered, demonstrate once again that reading takes an active role in each individual’s development. Children need guidance and support while they are growing up, and parents should assume the role of facilitators. They should not raise children without brain’s stimulation; the world needs children with the capacity to construct not to destroy.

SUMMARY FROM THE LECTURE OF STEPHEN BROOKFIELD ON CREATIVE AND CRITICAL THINKING

Stephen Brookfield says that thinking critically and creatively is important, because we start to question things that we probably believe are obvious, and we also start to open our minds to experience unusual things. He says that we definitely should implement this kind of learning in our classrooms by providing real-world illustrations and examples, e.g. it is important to let our students know the problems that are affecting our world. He also says that it is important to end discussions and exercises with questions, which I think is amazing because the student is going to feel that the process of learning is not just in the classroom, but also outside the classroom atmosphere. Personally, I believe that we should motivate our students to think outside the box and let them experience new things so as to give them the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them.

FOURTH TASK

My patients are dying. But it’s their right to keep going. POINT OF VIEW:  As a young oncologist, I confess I am not an expert in balancing aggressive treatment with preserving quality of life. But it is clear to me that end-of-life care is not checklist medicine. It is not just about statistics or studies. Achieving true shared decisions is an interactive process that takes time and engagement, leading to mutual trust. It is about continuously setting honest expectations for what is possible and making sure all parties truly understand what the consequences are likely to be.
